Here are 6 easy ways to generate meaningful content for your blog:
1. Find a relevant video on a site like youtube, embed it into your blog, and write a brief opening paragraph expressing your opinion or point of view. This is a simple method that takes only a few minutes to complete, but can provide immense value to your readers.
2. Use guest bloggers. Many people are willing to supply content for your blog in exchange for links back to their website. This is a great way to generate content while also establishing relationships with other experts in your niche. Often times those relationships can lead to joint ventures and affiliate partnerships, so be sure to connect with people that add value to the audience you are serving.
3. Repurpose your existing content. Sort through your older posts and revamp one that is relevant to your current topic. Updating the content, adding additional points, or putting a different spin on an existing topic are all great ways to modify your existing post with minimum effort, while simultaneously providing great material for your readers.
4. Visit a site like eHow.com and find an existing “How To” article that is specific to your target market. Then, improve the steps by making them your own, and post your revised “How To” article to your site. This is a great way to generate meaningful step-by-step content that is both educational and effective.
5. Find an existing and relevant article on a site like About.com and paste it into your site. Be sure to give the author credit (just as you would want credit for your own work) and then add a few sentences of your own expressing your opinion on the topic. This is a great time saving method for posting consistent content that is specific to your niche and valuable to your audience.
6. For many people, speaking is easier than typing an article. I often “speak” my articles and then have them transcribed into text. My favorite tool for doing this is Dragon Dictation, which has a free app for iPhone and iPad users, or you can buy the full software version, which has expanded capabilities. The other cost-effective option, which I have also used in the past, is to record them into a digital recorded, download them as an mp3 and then use a transcriber at Fiverr.com, where you can have your material transcribed for $5.
The other benefit to blogging is that there are several ways to monetize your efforts and create on-going and consistent income. If you’d like to learn more about this, please subscribe to our RSS feed and watch for next week’s series on monetizing your blogs!
